Getting married

To Our Darling girl, 

A daughter turns a house into a home, and ours holds your presence in every nook, every corner. A teasing giggle here, a mock frown there, a warning tone here, a loving hand there. Even the walls ring with your laughter, etching stories - from that slanting look to the crooked biting of your lip. Your Breathless tirade a treat to hear, sharing in a voice beaming with sunshine, or bursting into peals of childlike laughter.  Feeding, caring for everyone, hiding chocolates, rolling on floors, being teased relentlessly, brushing sunshine into each facet of our lives. 

These emotions overwhelm and my heart gets so ready to overflow each time i sit down to pen these words to you - words that want to gift the entire World to you, words that hold up a mirror to show you OUR Universe, words that are bursting with emotion, with pride, with wishes and blessings. Words that turn back the pages of our lives, still seeing that baby with twinkling eyes… words that hoard random stories held within all our memories… words that still hear, “mujhe nahin khelna,” “aisa karogay mere saath?” “idhar udhar kar dungi,” “plijj,” “inne unne,” “kitnay ganday ho aap,” “my happy gift,” “kaisey se ho,” “chhoti chhoti khushiyaan’ “Its my Birthright” “nann-na” constantly.

Sometimes i wonder who brought up whom - We have all walked every step with you, in our minds and hearts. Being the youngest, each of us always wanting to give so much- to teach, to protect. But i am so proud to say that each one of us also received from you, learnt from you, and looked up to you - secure in your circle of love, equally. The journey from baby - the eureka moment of your name - to bedtime stories… to baaji’s ladoos, to dai mama’s little gudiya, to abracadabra - turning every sibling into a punching bag, or becoming their magic genie, to now - a confident young lady ready to take on the World on her own terms - has woven memorable emotions that constantly make our hearts skip and race uniquely. 

Life is giving you its arm, to walk the red carpet hand in hand. There is magic in all the blessings you have collected, letting myriad joyflowers line every step you take, opening doors to unmatched success and destined miracles. 

What advice can i give you as you take this leap of faith into a beautiful chapter of your life. Just be yourself - for that magnetic smile has the ability to romance every facet of life irresistibly, taking moments on myriad dates, ready to dance with abandoned joy. 

Always remember,

Your home is inside you, no matter where you are.

Choose love that lets you choose — if you love yourself, you have found the ideal life partner.

Life romances through its moments — letting you skip or dance freely. 

Change is your friend, not your enemy.

Moments — happy or sad — only last in our memories. Remember what to hold on to, and what to let go.
